Baby Sign

I whipped up this sign for my friend's baby shower. It was so simple, and only took a few hours, and cost me nothing(remember I hoard fabric scraps). It was a big hit!

I made letters and traced them onto fabric (yes, I use a regular pen...)

I didn't want to machine sew any part of this because when my friend's bun is done in the oven, I plan to alter this sign for the bun's name so she can re-use it. I stitched with floss.

I know my job is done when my trash can looks like this...

The finished product.

Just spotted this in the new Anthropologie catalogue. I think I am going to make this next.

Mary Blair Goodness

Boy, is it the time for babies! For my friend's baby shower coming up I thought what better inspiration than the fab artist, Mary Blair.

Here she is rocking a pretty peasant top and gold cuff while she works.

I decided to make a quilt and incorporated Mary's art into it. I love making quilts because they are pretty easy when you use a pattern and I always have tons of vintage fabric scraps.
 (I hoard fabric).

Just a little print job onto some iron on paper and voila! I also made some cute onesies to match the theme.

Add some buttons and you have an easy baby gift. I bought my gently used onesies for 95 cents.
 Score!

Travel in Style!

For my parents recent trip to Paris I thought it only fitting to give them a travel gift. What better idea than custom passport covers. Immigration officers are so grumpy anyway, might as well try to make it a cheery experience!

From boring...

...To Fab!

My momma said every mean immigration person said something about them and smiled. Mission accomplished!
